Computing power is a new type of productivity that integrates information computing power, data storage power and network carrying power in the era of digital economy. The reporter learned from the 2022 China Computing Power Conference held on July 30 that in recent years, the scale of China's computing power industry has grown rapidly, and at the end of 2021, the scale of China's computing power core industry reached 1.5 trillion yuan, and the scale of related industries exceeded 8 trillion yuan, with an average growth rate of more than 30% in the past five years, ranking second in the world.
China's computing power infrastructure continues to be consolidated, and the world's largest and technologically advanced network infrastructure has been built. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of June 2022, the number of 5G base stations reached 1.854 million, the number of 5G mobile phone users exceeded 450 million, all prefecture-level cities have fully built optical network cities, the number of gigabit fiber users has exceeded 61 million, and the construction of a number of trunk optical cables has been launched. The total size of data center racks in use exceeds 5.9 million standard racks, the scale of servers is about 20 million, and the total computing power exceeds 150EFlops (15,000 floating point operations per second); In terms of storage, in 2021, the total storage capacity of China's data centers will reach 800EB (1EB=1024PB), accounting for about 14% of the country's advanced storage use, and the highest proportion of advanced storage in first-tier cities with high requirements for data storage performance is 17%.
China's computing power industry chain continues to improve, including computing power infrastructure, computing power platform, computing power services, etc., the internationally competitive computing power industry ecology has initially taken shape, and a number of computing power platforms, new data centers and industrial bases with demonstration effects have landed one after another. According to the calculation of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, in 2021, the scale of China's computing power core industry will exceed 1.5 trillion yuan, of which the cloud computing market will exceed 300 billion yuan, the IDC service market will exceed 150 billion yuan, and the core industry scale of artificial intelligence will exceed 400 billion yuan, and the role of the pillar of the computing power industry will become more and more prominent.
At the meeting, China's first comprehensive computing power index, the "China Comprehensive Computing Power Index", was officially released. The index consists of more than 30 indicators in four areas: computing power, storage capacity, transportation capacity and development environment. From the perspective of the comprehensive computing power index, the comprehensive computing power of the provinces where the eastern computing power hub nodes in China are located is generally at the leading level, and some western computing power hub nodes and the Top10 central provinces are on the list. The overall development of computing power, storage capacity and transportation capacity in the eastern provinces is at a high level, the industrial development momentum is good, and the comprehensive computing power index is generally high. Some central provinces are also in the forefront of the country in terms of computing power and environment. Some western provinces have also ranked among the top 10 with their own advantages in terms of storage capacity and environment.
